Maltodextrin: No other company uses the same maltodextrin as CarboRocket. Why? It's very expensive compared to every other Maltodextrin on the market - not enough profit margin. Our Maltodextrin has a DE (dextrose equivalent) of 5 (dextrose and sugar have a DE of 100) the lowest of any maltodextrin. This means that for the same amount of carbohydrates our maltodextrin has only a fraction of the sweetness when compared to other maltodextrins and other carbohydrate sources. No other maltodextrin mixes as instanly as ours either. We use only the highest quality, most expensive, made in the USA maltodextrin available.
Fructose: Pure crystalline fructose also made in the USA. A simple carbohydrate that when ingested with maltodextrin in a 2:1 ratio increases the amount of calories your stomach can process. More calories digested per hour wihout GI distress means improved performance. Also, when mixed with Maltodextrin, fructose does not cause gastric problems that can be associated with ingesting it on its own.
L-Glutamine: Athletes who participate in sports that require strength, speed, and endurance need glutamine to help them maintain muscle mass, especially during times of intense training. Extreme endurance athletes such as cyclists and marathon runners also benefit from glutamine supplementation because it helps reduce muscle tissue breakdown and supports the immune system during periods of trauma or stress. Glutamine is beneficial any time the body deals with increased amounts of stress.
Electrolytes: Sodium helps prevent dehydration and muscle cramping during intense workouts, especially in hot weather. While the average diet often supplies enough, hot weather and/or excess sweating can increase our needs. Sodium supports healthy muscle contractions by improving the flow of water across cell walls.
Potassium enhances muscle gain and recovery by supporting healthy muscle contractions through regulating neuromuscular function. It also ensures normal growth and formation of muscle tissue by helping synthesize protein from amino acids in our cells. Potassium helps convert blood sugar into glycogen to be stored for energy which supports our bodies during endurance activities.
Magnesium is needed for over 300 of our bodies' most important biological processes, not the least of which is ATP energy production and muscular contractions. Athletes use it to prevent muscle cramping, enhance muscle and nerve functioning and to relieve tight, sore muscles. It also helps improve bone density. Magnesium supports strong, healthy bones by regulating mineral absorption and cooperating with calcium. It also assists in the production of ATP (adenosine tri-phosphate, the "energy factory"). It aids in muscular functioning, muscle contractions and nerve impulses.
Calcium: We use only Calcium Carbonate, which contains more elemental calcium than any other form of calcium. Calcium gluconate, calcium citrate and calcium lactate contain very little elemental calcium and would need to be ingested in enormous amounts to have any benefit. In addition to its well-known ability to support strong, healthy bones, calcium plays an important role in nerve impulses, which trigger muscle contractions. It also helps maintain a positive mineral/electrolyte balance which helps prevent muscle cramping.
Flavoring: The best, most expensive all-natural flavorings you've ever had. Yum!
Citric Acid: Not only is citric acid a natural preservative and powerful anti-oxidant it is also central to the production of energy. Citric acid plays a key role in the Krebs Cycle and is responsible for breaking down fatty acids, glucose and amino acids in order to produce ATP, the energy molecule that fuels your muscles. Gotta have it.
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): Intense exercise can wreak havoc on the immune system. That's where Vitamin C steps in; it can enhance muscle gain and recovery by maintaining a strong immune system during times of elevated stress, including intense exercise phases. It also supports the health of joints, tendons and ligaments and reduces inflammation, which may help lessen pain and stiffness following intense exercise.
